Thank you for your interest in the Law Enforcement Applicant Database (LEAD™) program.  As a police officer, my passion and admiration for this occupation are the guiding forces that drove me to develop LEAD™.  Our mission at EXCELEAS® is to offer law enforcement agencies high-quality solutions that enhance their operations; by increasing efficiency, decreasing expenditures, improving outside participation, and preserving the high standards demanded of the law enforcement profession.

Thank you for your interest in the Law Enforcement Applicant Database (LEAD™) program.  As a police officer, my passion and admiration for this occupation are the guiding forces that drove me to develop LEAD™.  Our mission at EXCELEAS® is to offer law enforcement agencies high-quality solutions that enhance their operations; by increasing efficiency, decreasing expenditures, improving outside participation, and preserving the high standards demanded of the law enforcement profession.

Over the years, I have studied the challenges facing agencies throughout our country.  They comprise a drop in applicants, strained public relations, inadequate information sharing (as it relates to hiring), reduced or stagnant budgets, increasing female and visible minority recruitment, and selecting the right people for the job.

I asked myself what we could do to help agencies with these issues.  Could a program address all these obstacles?  I knew an answer existed.  It became a matter of seeking it out.  That’s where LEAD™ was born, and from there it took shape.

Do I believe LEAD™ will solve every issue raised?  No, to suggest otherwise would be misleading.  No single program will eliminate the hiring challenges departments face.

Do I believe LEAD™ will improve issues we designed it to focus on?  Yes, without a doubt.  LEAD™ is a program unlike any other.  It can be a turning point in law enforcement recruitment.  It addresses the issues presented and is available to agencies of all types and sizes throughout our country.

LEAD’s™ dominating factor is its availability to every law enforcement agency in America.  It leaves nobody out.  When we don’t work collectively, and when we limit programs to intrastate-use only, or to certain agencies, we all fail.  Lack of intelligence sharing has been controversial and suffered considerable criticism over the years.  It’s time to put that behind us.

What’s desirable about LEAD™ is it offers something to every agency, no matter how large or small.  Even better is LEAD’s™ ability to pay for itself and save your agency money.

As we grow together, so shall our results.  In time, LEAD™ will develop into the industry standard agencies everywhere can rely upon for employment demands.  When you join LEAD™, you connect to a family of organizations that promote each other’s experience in the program.

We will direct our efforts to offer policing agencies progressive tools to further their needs, and to discover ways we can build on our success.  If we identify a better method, we will implement it.  If you have a recommendation, we will listen.  My pledge to each agency executive is to make your experience with LEAD™ one you will never regret, and one you’ll be proud to take part in.

Joining the law enforcement community and serving as a police officer in southwestern Pennsylvania has been and will remain a source of pride for me.  To support the profession is an honor.  I believe that contribution, as modest as it may be, will help law enforcement agencies achieve success with hiring challenges.  I urge you to join us as we expand on our mission to offer you the best tools to address your agency’s demands.  It’s time to get out in front and “Take the LEAD!™”
